Rhonda Forlaw Adkins

Known around Nashville as The Starchitect™, Rhonda has spent more than thirty years building careers and campaigns on both sides of the music business.

She was part of the original staff at Arista Nashville, working national campaigns for Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Diamond Rio, BlackHawk, Steve Wariner, Michelle Wright, Lee Roy Parnell, Asleep at the Wheel, The Tractors, Exile, Pam Tillis, Radney Foster and more, and produced one of country music's first video press kits, which earned a Telly Award. She went on to spend more than two decades on the artist side, and helped pass three federal food-allergy laws along the way.

In 2019 she founded Rhonda & Company, the boutique entertainment consulting agency behind Stardust Studios.

The label years

Early 1990s

Behind the scenes with Randy Travis and the Highwaymen: Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson.

Arista Nashville, original staff

Joined the first staff of a new label that went on to define the decade. National campaigns for Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Diamond Rio, BlackHawk, Steve Wariner, Michelle Wright, Lee Roy Parnell, Asleep at the Wheel, The Tractors, Exile, Pam Tillis, Radney Foster and more.

1993

With Travis-Heard Entertainment, produced a VHS press kit for Brooks & Dunn, one of country music's first video press kits. It earned a Telly Award years before the format became standard practice.

II.

Both sides of the desk

For more than two decades Rhonda worked the artist side, building the alliances between managers, booking agents, labels, production companies and media outlets that turn a signing into a career.

Few people in Nashville have run campaigns from inside a major label and then lived with the results from the artist's side of the table.

Promoted, not buried. This is the last thing on the current bio page and arguably the most remarkable. It also proves a sellable capability: she can run a national issue campaign.
III.

Three federal laws

After her daughter Brianna was diagnosed with severe food allergies, Rhonda turned a family problem into a national campaign: celebrity ambassadorship, a walk across dozens of US cities, and meetings on Capitol Hill with the Senate Majority Leader and the Tennessee delegation.

FAAN honored Rhonda and Trace Adkins at its twentieth anniversary alongside the original congressional sponsors of the School Access to Emergency Epinephrine Act.
